The 27th China International Pet Show (CIPS) took place from December 7th to 10th, 2023, at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. For the first time, CIPS held two annual editions, maintaining an exhibition area of 60,000 square meters with approximately 700 exhibitors. The event drew nearly 70,000 professionals from over 120 countries and regions, gathering to explore and discuss together.
CIPS, adhering to the concept of using foreign trade as a breakthrough to drive industry recovery, fully leveraged the advantages of a professional B2B trading platform, highlighted brand characteristics, and attracted professional buyers from domestic and international markets. Meanwhile, CIPS focused on industry development, showcased industry trends, organized advanced training, brought industry events, and collaborated with attendees to write a new chapter in the industry.
The 27th edition of CIPS showcased trends, providing momentum for the industry. It attracted leading companies in the global pet and aquarium industry, striving to become an international marketing platform. For 27 years, CIPS has advocated for “buying global, selling global,” inviting global buyers to explore opportunities in China and guiding Chinese companies to go global. Attendees at this event included traditional market leaders from Europe and America, as well as emerging forces from Russia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, with significant growth seen among professionals from Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.
As consumer focus on technological advancements for enhanced consumption experiences grows, high technology enables pet owners to better understand their pets’ health information, making pets’ lives more convenient and comfortable while enhancing interaction between humans and pets. Intelligent products showcased at this exhibition included smart feeders, intelligent tracking collars, wireless water dispensers, and smart litter boxes.
“Green Pawprint, Love the Earth” is the first green-themed event hosted by CIPS, aiming to promote the sustainable development of the pet and aquarium industries by showcasing new opportunities and cutting-edge concepts. It is committed to paving the way for sustainable development and encouraging people to embrace green products. Award-winning products from this event included environmentally friendly poop scoops, nano-trivalent silver ion components for water quality improvement, renewable rubber toys, pet clothing made from recycled fabrics, and zero-carbon emission eco-friendly fences.
With the maturation of the pet care market, there is a trend towards segmentation and diversification of food and supplies. For example, specialization and segmentation of cat and dog food are also appearing in the categories of aquarium food and small pet food, with advanced ingredients and significant segmentation.
